my DR chairs....

for my b'day last year i went to scott's and purchased 6 louis xvi chairs to go w/ my DR table. they have been great...so glad that i chose these b/c they are so comfortable and we sit in them all of the time. i knew i wanted to reupholster them....however, reupholstery doesn't come cheap. so i lived w/ the green chenille fabric on them until christmas. when my mom and mother-in-law asked me what i wanted, i quickly replied my DR chairs recovered! we got 4 done and as much as i hated it, i decided to go w/ double cording instead of the nailhead trim (it was sad to loose that look but let me just tell you, individual nail head trim adds about $50+ per chair to the cost). deciding the fabric was my next task. i wanted a stripe on the back...luckily, i had one yd of fabric leftover from a roman shade i had made (yep, the one that is now going into my son's room). so i was just debating b/w light and dark for the front. i loved two looks: one was what thomas o'brien did for dara caponigro's stylish abode and the other was ivanka trump's chairs. we opted for a chocolate brown linen/ cotton blend and i am so thankful i did....especially w/ young children....they show nothing. i wish i could show you them w/ the table but at this current time it's covered in cereal bowls leftover from breakfast, mail, and random magazines...and one of the chairs is sitting in the middle of the floor from where taylor was playing train! and to be honest, this is probably how my table looks 75% of the time :)

walker's room....

i'm having a baby. if you read this blog, you definitely know that from all of my moaning and groaning. that baby-to-be has a name....walker preston darby. here are some givens that are going in his room/ nursery:

stokke crib- white (just discovered that they have taylor's nursery featured on their site)

lulu dk catwalk in light blue and brown- roman shade

and at almost 29 wks that is where we stand :)

hanging in there...

literally. taylor decided to get up at 5:30 today b/c there were "monsters" in her room. with that and my belly getting HUGE, sleeping isn't something that i am getting much of these days.....

i treated my girls...

a makeover was in major need...so i took my blogs to the salon. kelly at fabulous k creative couldn't have been a better stylist, i mean design master! especially since the client was so high maintenance! you know designers, we have opinions on everything, especially when we are pregnant and on bed rest :) and the best part about the whole experience, we didn't even need to come home and wash and restyle our hair afterwards...kelly was perfect from the start! i don't think she could have created a blog that was more "me" if she tried!

so that knocks off one item from my to-do-list w/ my business....now onto finishing my website...

it's offically spring break for my two yr old....and it's raining. off to look and see what martha has to offer in the way of entertainment....maybe we should make bunny cookies.

doctor's apt went good, kiddo is staying put- check

pretty, warm weather- check

i get to go to tay's easter egg hunt- check

avett brothers playing on itunes puts an instant smile on my face- check

life is good- double check ;)

spring

the weather was perfect on saturday....sunny and warm. i am hoping that it stays that way so i can start enjoying the back porch a lot more often. being able to go and swing and watch taylor play and warren cook out is a great way to spend a day.

i love the clock, i would skip around the room if i had two of those beautiful x stools sitting in my LR, that designer doggie bed makes me think twice about the gigantic ll bean bed barron sleeps on, that bedroom seems so peaceful- i like the unexpected lighting, and that bathroom, man, i love it all.....
