to say my dad is pretty awesome is an understatement.....last week, he spent 6 days (3/4's of which were raining) building taylor and walker a playhouse in our backyard.  he hammered away in the rain to finish it before taylor's birthday party.  it was so nice having him here....this AM taylor woke me up crying saying "i miss papa c"....i have to say, i miss him too.  i cannot thank my dad enough for the special gift he gave my children....we love everything about it.

hey ya'll....i would love to do a cool post but i am running around like crazy trying to get things ready for taylor's 5 yr old b'day party....why do i stress myself out by having it at the house??!!  have a stress-free weekend :)

i don't own a leather jacket but my unconventional self thinks it would be fun to play the part....it just makes you a bad ass, right?!

 happy mother's day to all the special moms out there...

i made a quick visit to see my mom for mother's day last night....there's nothing like sitting on the back porch of the house i grew up in w/ a glass of wine, talking w/ my mom into the wee hours of the night....

last night i rolled around for what seemed like hours trying to fall asleep.  i don't do well in complete darkness and silence.  seriously, at almost 33 i should out grow that, right?!!  i prefer sleeping w/ the tv on...my husband would love nothing more then a pitch black room.  unfortunately, 97% of the time, he sucks it up for me.  so sweet.  last night, i tried real hard to not cave....and i didn't...i also didn't sleep.....coffee please.

i had quite a weekend....saturday a girlfriend and i headed out for a road trip to go shopping....we made a little pit stop for gas about half way to our destination.  it was an unusually difficult process pumping gas....i was in the middle aisle of the gas station, everything was touch screen...it said select fuel, there was one button so i pressed it.  it took forever to pump so i only got a quarter of a tank. well, we got back on the road and immediately my car started acting funny.....like we were dragging someone.  we pulled off the interstate and examined the car...no one was under there (thankfully).  then, i confessed to my friend how difficult it was getting gas....well, to make a long story short- i pumped my car full of kerosene.  yes, apparently they now have it in the middle aisle of gas stations.  our girls trip, halted quickly as we headed very nervously to the closest toyota dealership 45 minutes down the road....they spent the next 6 hour removing it from my tank.  apparently it's not a good idea to use kerosene in your car.....it will put a huge damper on your shopping trip, your wallet, your husband won't be happy, and it will make you the butt of jokes for quite sometime!  just a little warning guys :)

 

i'm the queen of saying i'm going to do something and not following through w/ it....or getting bored in the middle of the project and stopping all together.....remember this post where i told what i wanted to do paint my front door?  well, i'm happy to share that i did do some stuff to spruce up my front porch.....i still have more to go like painting the ceiling blue, adding a new light, actually attaching the lion knocker on my door and removing the price tag, and making a cushion for my bench...but you get the idea :)

also, several people that stop by, like the guy fixing my refrigerator, ask if i always coordinate my toe nail polish w/ my front door color....why yes i do, thank you very much :)  alright, walker is totally over this post.  he's got more important things to do like eat cereal in the blow up pool sitting in my living room......classy, i know!!  that's how we roll :)

got to love it when your day starts with an exploding smoothie all over your kitchen!!!  hopefully, that isn't foreshadowing how the rest of my day will go!!

sunday after a birthday party, all the moms were standing around talking about this book, fifty shades of grey.  i road w/ my neighbor to the party and we made a pit stop so she could get the book.  that night i decided to download it on my ipad and see what all the hype was about.  O. M . G. is all i can say.......have y'all read it???!!
