i think one of my favorite parts of having this blog is the visual reminder of what i am inspired by...having all of these images saved, gives me a great resource to go to when i am helping a client. when you are building a house or hiring a designer, images are so vital in expressing your individual style. you can learn so much from looking at pictures: obviously i like open kitchens with a combination of light and dark elements, i lean towards no upper cabinetry and i like introducing industrial touches either in lighting or in a piece of furniture.
so if you are just trying to find out what you gravitate too or if you are considering hiring a designer, start storing pictures...this will serve as a great starting point to tweaking your own individual look!

Oh that white kitchen with the oversize brass hinges makes my heart skip a beat! Thanks for the sweet comment on the blog, he's a doll and I'll get some photos up.
ReplyDeleteGood Lord - I'm drooling on my keyboard.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'd do without all my tear sheets - and now, jpeg folders - now if I could just get that wall-sized idea board installed, I'd be set!
Thanks for the lovelies!
Thanks for the link love! What a spectacular round up---the dark glossy floors in that last one are calling my name!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the two ugliest things in a kitchen are the fridge and the vent. In the kitchen third from the top, they used these elements almost like art and sculpture which I have never seen before. Plus, who doesn't want two fridges? Most of my friends have one in the kitchen and one in the garage, but this takes a bulky, ugly element and makes it the focal point. Genius.
