independent play....

this AM taylor decided to wake up at 5:00...my mom claims that she falls back asleep in their bed if she puts her to sleep w/ them. well, not the case here...taylor has NEVER fallen back to sleep in our bed. she sings, kicks her legs up and down, put her cold milk on my back, plays with my hair....get the picture. i wanted to put her in her room and let her have independent playtime. but my sweet husband was a much better parent this AM and took both tay and barron on a very early morning stroll. i awoke at 7:30 with tay handing me a jelly english muffin and my husband running around late saying "we probably have jelly all over the house"...whoops, i guess i was more tired then i realized....i never even heard them come back in!
so here are some pics inspired by what tay might have been doing, had her dad not been the better parent....

When my son was 3 years old I heard him get up and go to the TV room. He was very quiet. Too quiet. I hollered to him, "Mason, whacha doing?" He answered, "eating cookies". My husband had forgotten to put away his evening snack and Mason had found it and occupied himself! I had to laugh at his honesty.

Oh so cute. Tay sounds like an amazing little girl. Too cute. Glad to hear that hubby got up and helped out with her so that you could get your zzz's. Great daddy!

Totally agree with you SYTYCD and of course I get the eye rolls as well from the husband.

My little guy doesn't let me sleep in either and he is the kind of guy that wakes up running! I will be casually mentioning this post to my hubby and hope the hint works :)

Cute morning! I love jelly english muffins.

Shannon, you know I LOVE SYTYCD. Wade's piece was awesome last night not to mention he's so super hot. Makes me wish he was on a lot more often.

Ha, that's funny - our son is exactly the same. He's two now but we tried putting him in with us in the mornings when he was a baby. Failed miserably. He just likes to poke us in the eye to see if we'll wake up (which we obviously do...)

I rememeber the wtach ya doin days when the eyes would peek over the top of the matress & when they were not answered...naturally you jump on top of me & shout ALicia, Alicia wake up!!!
I miss my god kids everyday just the same!!!! One day when they're older & want to sleep in you can lovingly but cunningly return their favors.

this gave me a good laugh. My son has started to get up way to early so we started locking his door, he just plays till we get him. Umm, maybe I just gave you too much info:)
