things that make me happy.

i love cooking in the kitchen w/ my husband....it puts a smile on my face. there is something so fun about trying out a new recipe, listening to music on the ipod, and then sitting on the screen porch to eat it....and lately we have had some great meals! another thing that i am loving are the flowers that are growing outside. i love having flowers from the yard scattered in random bottles throughout the house. it's like instant happiness. and last but not least, i totally want to make one of those herb pots....so easy and such a great idea (putting that on my to-do-list). it pains me to buy herbs at the grocery store when you just need a tiny bit for a recipe. and this is a simple, yet stylish solution. now if i can just remember to water them :)

The images are all so cheerful. Love the white Viking and the flowers and herbs. I also love planting lettuce out back - it's so nice when you are making a sandwich and can run out and grab some fresh leaves. Have a happy day!

sounds so lovely! I planted a galvanized bucket with herbs and let me tell you, they do not stay that small and cute for long! my basil and parsley are taking over!

Love all of these images--- and I esp need an herb pot like this. I'm with you--- I always waste so much when I buy fresh herbs from the grocery store.

so fun... just a little hint... separate your mint from the rest of your herbs... it will spread like wildfire... (they all will - but esp mint!)

enjoy... you look so happy... xx pam

Love the herb idea...I wonder how they fare as they fill in. I have such a black thumb but I may be able to manage something like this. Love the island...and totally agree about cooking with good music and family around....

I'm with you on the herb pot ---- always buying herbs and never using them up before they go bad. Great photos, too!
