seriously this blog is such a good place for me to come and daydream.....b/c my real life is
so polar opposite. it's not the easiest being a mom that works from home (and sometimes i get jealous of my husband as he leaves for work). my youngest is going through a stage...a stage we don't remember w/ taylor. he's very needy, he gets mad, and yes- he might hit (i said it....usually just me though...but sometimes others). trying to send emails w/ a child that is crying next to you is not that luxurious...and i guarantee you i don't look glamourous when i am answering phone calls....i'm probably mouthing to my 4 yr old that i am on the phone and she has to wait to talk, wiping my child's nose, getting someone a sippy cup, or shutting myself in the bathroom so i can carry on an adult conversation.....either way, i love being a mom and i am thankful to have this blog as a way to daydream:) thank y'all so much for still coming to visit....i am so glad to have you in my life! xo- shannon

I love the pictures, but really love what you wrote today in your blog. I can relate to that because i have three kids, but they are Teens! Can you imagine?!!! We will just leave it at that. :)
ReplyDeleteI had a hitter, too, when he was like 1.5-2. He would only hit me, which people told me was a good thing cause he trusted me so it was a way for him to vent his feelings in a safe place. He's over it now (he's 2.5) but at the time I was sure I was raising a future sociopath and I would end up on 20/20 being interviewed about what I did to screw him up. Ah, mommy guilt! Love your blog!

Loving the pic's. I understand working home is hard, when my children were little actaully even now they don't get it that I am on the phone! Have a lovely day and I love your blog. Mimi xx
ReplyDeleteShannon,
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping me feel NORMAL!!! xo
Hang in there! The work you do for your kids and yourself is very important and I'm sure you do a great job at both.
ReplyDeleteHang in their Shannon, I think all us working from home mums have shut ourselves in a room or cupboard at some point to carry on a phone coversation. It gets better!

I can totally relate. I work from home and am constantly running away from my 2.5 and 4 year old to make phone calls. Most of the time I ended up apologizing to the person I am talking to that my child is screaming in the background. It has to get better as they get older, right?
ReplyDeleteI love your blog for its dreamy quality too! That is why I check it out almost every day!
ReplyDeleteblogs are a wonderful way to relax...dream! glad you have it as an outlet! i'm sure most moms can relate!

Though I only have one child, I feel like she was pretty needy. I'm glad you can make some time for yourself to blog.
ReplyDeleteWow you are doing really well! Lovely blog :) These pics are gorgeous, I am really liking the colours and textures. Need that Missoni skirt and turquoise sofa in my life! x
ReplyDeleteWe are going through the same fussy/hitting stage with Collins. It is wearing me out!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am the crazy one who is just up and starting a design business in my new town (well, new-old town) with a 16 month old and a new one due in just 10 weeks. Plus this renovation. I am officially NUTS.
My second was a biter not a hitter (so call yourself lucky:)), but all I can say...as my mom alwyas told me "this to shall pass".
ReplyDeleteAnd it does get better now that this stay at home mom and business woman gets to actually go into an office...even if it is only 4 hours a day:) It still is difficult at times with a 4.5 and 7 yr old in 2 weeks...instead of sippy cups...its "stop fighting", "no, I don't know why the world is round", and "no you cannt have candy before dinner...etc". And to think, I can still remeber that soon to be 7 yr old bouncing on your leg at 18 months at my parents house after the cruise and you looked like a deer in head lights! Oh how I miss those days:)
OH MY!! I can so relate! I have a 6yr old son who of course is in school, and I have a 1 yr old son, and he is so needy as well. Working from home is a bit of a challenge, but I can honestly say I wouldn't have it any other way. A lot of times I have to schedule my calls during nap time, hoping that he goes down easily. It was so nice to read this and know that I am not alone. Power to all the moms out there that can relate! We are in this together! Xoxo
