  2. Love the ideas! My fav is the blue and white color scheme... almost nautical themed. Also the monogram pillows and white furniture is precious. Have fun and congrats to the family on Walker on turning 2!

  4. I just did a cheaper take on the Serena and Lilly navy striped duvet. I found a great one at West Elm that was very similar but nicer on the wallet. Especially when Ethan goes from the sandbox to bed for nap:) I will be posting pics soon of his new big boy room.

  5. Great photos! As the mother of a 9-year-old boy, who started with one twin, then went to bunks, and now has a queen, my first choice would be two twins or a daybed with trundle (so versatile...for guests and for friends who sleep over). Also, we got rid of the bunks because although they save space, they are SO HARD to make, and too many playmates were tempted to climb on them like monkey bars. Have fun! P.S. My son said to tell you to do an upholstered headboard. He loves having something comfy to lean on when reading in bed.

  8. I love your blog! It's one of my "treats" at the end of the day when all is quiet after bedtime.

I have young boys and have been through the same deliberations with some of the same inspirations. As much as I like the look of upholstered beds between wet beds (leaked diaper, after potty training a didn't make it to the bathroom in time) and messes (we once had burrito throw up from a stomach bug = disgusting) something that can be wiped down is essential. I think bed rails are super ugly and don't like bedskirts so I had low mid-century inspired beds made that just require a mattress. Room and Board has some fun options.

    Warmly, MSC

  9. I am working on KJ's room too. Splitting them up once again into their own rooms. It seems I have many tastes. Just need to pick one idea. Ha!
