what's on your table?

there are so many details that can go into decorating a home...things like tablescapes can really bring the personality into a room. while tables are meant for function first (throwing your keys on, piling up mail, a place to put your wine glass), adding objects that mean something gives character to a room. now, i am not going to lie- tablescapes are not the easiest thing to create....i would advise practicing, rearranging, and looking in magazines and books to get the hang of it. start by layering objects and adding various heights, proportions, and sizes (this gives you the pouch)...and once you have created your masterpiece, you will be amazed at how it changes your space!!

  5. I'm always changing and rearranging, too, never quite satisfied. It's probably because my stuff isn't as cool/random as what you see here, haha.

  7. Anyone know if those are actual nautical dividers or just very large engineering-grade compasses on the suspended shelf?

  10. I love those compasses and the orange phone. I am at a point in decorating my house where I can't begin to think of the small spaces yet, as I'm still on large furniture and paint colors, but I'm looking forward to eventually getting to concentrate on every nook and cranny.

  13. Arranging is an artform. I would love the lamp in the first image, the window, bottle, and books in the second, the candle sticks and compasses in the third, the flowers in the fourth, and the phone and art in the last. Now I need table. Great post!
