i'm 31 and i want to cook. i mean, i can cook; warren and i enjoy doing it but i want to learn to really cook. according to julia, i have one year left before i really have to get down to business. i'm making homemade empanadas (thanks sis-in-law) for supper tonight....i figure i need the practice :)

You should buy Mastering the Art of French Cooking. You can make those dishes and they are delicious but they do take a long time. Good luck!

That quote from Julia Child really resonated with me when I read My Life in France, recently. Maybe because it gives me hope that a) I have plenty of time to work towards my passions and b) Do you know how much "older" being in your thirties was in the 40's? 'nuff said!

Love the kitchen images. Love that Viking stove. I dream of that Viking stove. But, alas, I'm 56 and still can't cook! Maybe if I had that stove I would be inspired to learn.

I so badly want to learn to cook (really cook) as well. I also love to do it but I stick to pretty simple recipes. It's certainly on my list of goals for my life.

I've decided I should wait until I have an amazing kitchen like one of these photos - then I can get serious about cooking. That's what I tell the hubby anyway!
